Back in March I applied for a job at my local pet shop, the interview went amazingly, but unfortunatly, I didn't get the job due to college days conflicting with work days. However, I kept popping in and getting my usual bits for my dog, and got talking to one of the owners about social media, as I'd written on my CV that I was "highly knowledgeable with social media" and told her that videos are usually what get the most attention- especially funny animal videos.
Early last week I got a phone call from her saying she had an idea and needed my help. Over the course of 30 minutes she explained about the #A591BackTogether scheme with businesses in Keswick and Grasmere twinning up with each other to help promote that the road is open again. She then said that she'd bought her Daniff (Great Dane x Mastiff) a pair of "doggles" while in America and that she wanted a video of Buddy in the back of a car with his doggles, riding along the A591.
I was super excited about this as not only was I going to be helping them to make a video, I'd also been offered some hours to work for them too.
On Wednesday (the opening day of the A591) we had planned to start filming, however I ended up coming down with a migraine. I called her up and she was very understanding that I wasn't able to film, and said that she hadn't been able to sort an open top car either, so it was going to be okay. We decided to rearrange for Thursday evening.
Turns out my migraine on Wednesday was a blessing in disguise. She was able to secure a truck with an open top truck bed and the weather was absolutely perfect.
